Brookson was created to give freelance contractors the opportunity
to enjoy the financial benefits of being limited without having to
deal with the hassle and legal implications of setting up and running
the business. Established in 1995 by contractors, Brookson has grown

CCL UK Group Plc is a specialist hire vehicle company, providing
replacement hire vehicles to the insurance industry, and short to
long term contract rentals to the retail market. CCL UK Group was

Marketplace
Focus Ireland was founded by Sr Stanislaus Kennedy in 1985 as a
result of the findings of research into the needs of homeless women
in Dublin. Since 1985, Focus Ireland has continued to grow and expand
its services. In 1988, the organisation opened its first development
of low rent, good quality long-term and short-term housing in Dublin.
Focus Ireland now has additional housing and service projects in

a Leading FTSE 250 Company Purchase ASR’s HR Software System
to Help Drive Through HR Strategy
With over 12,000 homes, Grainger is the largest quoted residential
property owner in the UK. A FTSE 250 company, with a turnover in
excess of £250 million Grainger needed an HR Software solution
that is flexible and powerful enough to help drive through HR strategy
and development. Grainger also needed an HR software system that
was able to manage their flexible benefits, learning and development
programme and to help re-engineer HR processes.
Grainger has over 500 employees supported by an HR function located
at their Head office in Newcastle-Upon-Tyne and other office in London.

is Endorsed by Cross London Rail Links Ltd Executive Board
Cross London Rail Links is a company which was established in 2001
and is a 50/50 joint venture company between Transport for London
(TfL) and the Department for Transport (DfT). Crossrail is an exciting
and visionary new railway proposal for London and the South-East
by 2015. Crossrail will make travelling in the area easier and quicker
and reduce crowding on London’s transport network. It will
operate with main line size trains, carrying more than 1500 passengers
in each train. It will deliver substantial economic benefits in London
and the South-East and across the UK. The estimated benefit of Crossrail
to the UK economy is £30 billion* (*TfL figures, May 2006).
Crossrail attended one of the HR & Payroll exhibitions at the
NEC Birmingham looking to short-list a number of HR & Payroll
software suppliers to replace their existing system. Crossrail’s
existing system was unable to meet their functional requirements
and the reporting was extremely limited. Crossrail also needed to
find a system that was able to evolve with them and offer them the
flexibility to configure the system as processes changed. Also, Crossrail
needed an HR system that provided them with sufficient recruitment
functionality to help with their recruitment drive once the bill
is passed by Parliament authorising the build of Crossrail.
After viewing a series of demonstrations at the show Crossrail identified
a number of suppliers to invite in to provide formal demonstrations
to their project team. From here the project team requested that
each HR software suppliers provide them with three customer phone
references before deciding on which suppliers should be invited in
for a more detail demonstration of their recommended HR software
solution. The detailed demonstration then followed with Crossrail
visiting the short listed suppliers’ offices to get a feel
for the company and for the project team running to have an opportunity
to use the software in a training environment. Crossrail chose ASR
as the preferred supplier a decision also endorsed by their executive

Kimbells Solicitors LLP purchased ASR’s Legal Sector HR Software
Including Self-service.
Kimbells was established in 1986 by lawyers who had practised in
the City but recognised there was a place for high quality legal
expertise and delivery in the regions. The firm’s traditional
strengths lie in corporate law but a comprehensive commercial practice
has been developed to meet the demands of clients, ranging from owner-managed
businesses to major plcs.
After 20 years, the firm is still faithful to its original aims
of organic growth in single location. Kimbells recent spectacular
growth reflects the firm's success in meeting clients' needs.
Based in Milton Keynes, Kimbells wanted to find an HR software
supplier that had considerable experience in working with other law
firms. The HR software solution also had to be flexible enough to
grow and evolve in line with the ambitions of the firm. It also had
to include the functionality to manage Kimbells Continuous Professional

The Parliamentary & Health Service Ombudsman – (PHSO)
Give Their Vote to ASR’s HR Software Solution
PHSO carry out independent investigations into complaints about
UK government departments and their agencies, and the NHS in England – and
help improve public services as a result.
Based in central London, PHSO employees 300 staff supported by an
HR function of 16 provides a range of services including recruitment
and selection, payroll and pensions, policy, employee relations,
management information and reporting, and learning and development.
PHSO wanted to identify a comprehensive, integrated HR system with
key requirements including:

PHSO’s project team put together a comprehensive tender that

panel and answer any questions arising from it.

Established in the UK in 1957, Tunstall is the World's leading manufacturer
and provider of personal and home reassurance telecare solutions.
With over 700 employees, Tunstall’s Head office is based in
Yorkshire, but other global locations include Europe, Australasia
and Americas.
Tunstalls felt that their existing HR & Payroll software supplier
could not meet their needs and requirements. With a good understanding
of HR and Payroll software Tunstalls put together a comprehensive
tender for integrated HR and Payroll software. As well as covering

Royal Star & Garter Felt

The Royal Star & Garter Home was established in 1916 to care
for disabled ex-service men returning from the First World War. The
Charity moved to its current purpose built Care Home in Richmond,
Surrey in 1924. Today it is a progressive Charity with plans to build
three new care homes to meet the future needs of the ex-service community.
Royal Star & Garter consists of staff at each home, the head
office, volunteers and bank staff.
The Royal Star & Garter attended one of the HR software shows

West London YMCA Identify ASR
As A Leading HR Software Supplier In The Charity Sector
West London YMCA is part of the largest voluntary youth organisation
in the World. An independent Charity and Company limited by guarantee
their position gives them a special responsibility and opportunity,
which they aim to develop by establishing services & programmes,
to benefit children and young people across West London and through
the YMCA Movement.
A project team of 6 were assigned the task of identifying an HR

ASR has a number of other leading charities as customers, which
inevitably helped them receive Diabetes UK comprehensive Initiation
to Tender along with 4 other HR & Payroll software suppliers.
Diabetes UK was looking for a solution that would help drive their

Phoenix House is the leading UK network of drug and alcohol treatment
specialists. The charity provides a highly effective range of services
in communities, prisons and residential centres that each year help
thousands of people transform their lives. Phoenix House employees
over 500 people across the UK, supported by a team of 9 in Hr based
at their head office in London.
After completing comprehensive research on the web of the HR Software
marketplace, Phoenix House short listed 4 suppliers and invited them
to demonstrate their HR Software solutions.
Phoenix House demanded a solution that had the flexibility and functionality
to meet their wide-ranging needs and requirements. It was also important
for Phoenix House to identify a solution that could operate over
Citrix, could link with Aggresso and that the reporting tools available
could provide them with the ability to complete powerful analysis.
Several of the suppliers were invited back to complete a more focused
2nd demonstration and Phoenix House’s rigid selection process
meant that each supplier had to also provide them with the opportunity
to visit and phone 2 of the suppliers customers.

Stanhope creates and delivers major commercial and mixed-use developments
in London and the south-east. Stanhope are firmly committed to the
principles and processes of urban renewal, and have more than 20
years' experience as developers, development partners and development
managers. Stanhope have achieved numerous awards and more recently
won two awards at the 2006 BCO Awards for One Hanover Street. The
building situated in the heart of London’s West End won the
National and Regional Commercial Workplace awards.
Based at St. James’s Square, London, Stanhope attended the
CIPD HR Software Show, Olympia, London in June to find a forward

Software
Ategi have been established since 1994 and is a registered charity
providing a range of support services to people with learning disabilities
and mental health issues. The company currently supports over 120
people and employs 180 staff with 45 adult placement hosts providing
its services throughout Wales.
The company is an accredited agency with all four local authorities
for its area of operation. Furthermore the company is an award winning
members of The Wales Quality Centre of Excellence, have the Investors

Software
The Food Standards Agency is an independent Government department
with over 700 employees. It was set up by Act of Parliament in 2000
to protect the public's health and consumer interests in relation
to food.
Like all government bodies the Food Standards Agency posted an advertisement
in the Official Journal of European Communities asking companies
interested in supplying them with an HR solution to respond to their
advertisement.
Over a period of seven months, ASR completed an HR Software pre-tender,
a full HR Software tender and demonstrated ASR's HR software to their
dedicated project panel. After due process the Food Standards Agency
confirmed that ASR were the preferred supplier. They purchased the

Bird & Bird invest in HR Software
Bird & Bird is an international commercial law firm with offices
in Beijing, Brussels, Düsseldorf, Frankfurt, The Hague, Hong
Kong, London, Madrid, Milan, Munich, Paris, Rome and Stockholm .
It also has close ties with firms in other key centres in Europe,
Asia and the United States.
After visiting the HR and Payroll exhibition in March 2005, a number
of suppliers were short listed to receive a copy of Bird and Bird's
RFI. Once the RFI was completed Bird and Bird shortlisted a number
of suppliers to receive their full tender from which a few were invited
to demonstrate their solutions. References were also requested by
Bird and Bird along with a "hands on" session at the suppliers'
offices to allow their users to get a better understanding of the
functionality offered by the suppliers. Bird and Bird decided that
ASR's HR solution was the best fit for them, purchasing modules for
Personnel and Recruitment.

English National Ballet purchase
ASR's Human Resources Software
English National Ballet is one of the world's great ballet companies.
There are 64 dancers in the Company, and this is augmented to 120
for annual performances at the Royal Albert Hall. There are approximately
80 members of staff, with departments including Artistic, Wardrobe,
Technical, Education and Administration. In addition, the Orchestra
of English National Ballet has 47 core members and is increased for
performances in large theatres throughout the country.
After visiting the Softworld HR and Payroll exhibition in March
2005, a number of HR Software suppliers were short listed and invited
to demonstrate their HR solutions. References were also requested
along with in depth discussions with ASR's technical team. English
National Ballet then made recommendations to the board and the Arts
Council before deciding to purchase ASR's Personnel module and Org
Plus.

Over a period of three months, ASR completed a number of demonstrations
to McGrigors dedicated project panel, after which McGrigors confirmed
that ASR were their preferred HR supplier. McGrigors purchased ASR's
HR Software including Personnel, Recruitment, Training and e-HR for
500 self-service users.

Jelson invest in ASR's HR Software
Upgrade
Founded in Leicester in 1889, Jelson Limited has been building quality
homes for over 100 years. As one of the country's leading privately
owned construction companies, Jelson has established and enhanced
a reputation based on traditional building techniques, thoughtful
modern designs and quality construction carried out by a well trained
and managed team. Currently building on various locations in Leicestershire,
Lincolnshire, Derbyshire, Cambridgeshire, Nottingham and Northamptonshire,
Jelson is widely regarded as one of the East Midlands' leading employers.
Jelson is on its third generation ASR product, purchasing ASR's
DOS system in 1993 before upgrading to ASR's Windows offering several
years later.
With Jelson continuing to expand its business in the construction
and property sector, upgrading to HR Professional was a natural route
for them. Jelson, with more than 1000 employees, purchased ASR's
Personnel Software.

Marie Stopes International invest
in ASR's HR Software
Marie Stopes International (MSI) was established in London in 1976
and grew out of the organisation originally set up by Dr Marie Stopes
in 1921. In 1977, MSI set up its first overseas centre in Ireland
and a year later set up a programme in India. Today, the MSI Global
Partnership provides sexual and reproductive health information and
services to 4.3 million people worldwide in 39 countries across Africa,
Asia, Australia, Europe, Latin America and the Middle East.
Although MSI were already using HR Software they felt it lacked
the functionality to grow with an expanding charity. MIS went to
the market to identify a new supplier and ASR was short listed to
demonstrate their HR Software. After a number of demonstrations ASR
was identified as the supplier with all the necessary HR Software
functionality and flexibility to evolve with MSI expansion plans.
MSI, with over 300 employees, purchased ASR's HR Software including
Personnel , Recruitment, Training and e-HR which included 300 self-service
users.
